Former chief financial officer Nicole Hollows was appointed as deputy chief executive, while Shane Stephan, previously vice-president of open cut production, will take over the chief financial officer role. Ian Neill, formerly vice-president of opencut development and business improvement, will become vice-president of operations.

Hollows has more than 14 years of commercial experience including debt finance, financial reporting, commercial negotiations and business analysis and has qualifications in accounting and company secretarial practice. She is also an associate member of Chartered Secretaries Australia and is a chartered accountant.

Stephan has over 18 years of mining experience at the most senior level, and in his new role he will draw on his previous experience prior to joining Macarthur Coal, where he worked as an executive in the structured and corporate finance divisions of an international investment bank. Stephan also has qualifications in business and finance.

Neill is the company’s most experienced executive in opencut mining operations, with 23 years of experience in large-scale opencut mining including mine planning and dragline operations, and at mine manager level.

He has managed significant mine expansions and the introduction of new mining equipment and has also worked at a senior level for contracting organisations.
