The Allentown, Pennsylvania-based company said that the new release was a cost-effective, durable solution to mines’ guarding needs.

It was been designed to catch the return idler from falling onto an unsuspecting worker or equipment, to reduce injuries and potential production downtime.

The Safe-Guard Return Idler Cage is designed to require no welding and is made from powder coated A36 steel. An open-slot design keeps material from building up around the equipment.

ASGCO said that the MSHA Title 30-accepted product (IC-174/3) comes with a mounting kit that includes clamps, links and adjustable chains. After installation, the cages can be removed easily for belt maintenance.

The new product is available in various sizes to fit most belt conveyor systems, including retrofit for most CEMA return idler bolt patterns, of up to 96 inch widths.

ASGCO was founded in 1971 and its products and services are classified into six divisions: service, lightweight, engineering, manufactured products, original equipment manufacturer and distributed products.
