A coal and gas outburst occurred during the early afternoon, according to Xinhua.

Rescuers reportedly detected no signs of life after more than 20 hours of efforts to boost ventilation underground.

The incident occurred while the mine was continuing work to ramp up production from 300,000 tonnes per annum to 900,000tpa.
