Premier Anna Bligh said the QIP would improve productivity, drive investment and provide direction about priorities and timing for infrastructure investment across the state.
It will replace other regional infrastructure plans and programs including the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program and the Far North Queensland Infrastructure Plan.
The QIP will be finalised later this year after a series of regional consultation forums and input from the private sector plus other levels of government.
Community consultation will run until September 9.
