The TSX-listed, Tennessee-based miner has appointed president and director Bernie Mason to step into the CEO role. He will also serve as president and director.
Mason, a 35-year industry veteran, had served as president and director since 2009.
鈥淏ernie has led company operations, as well as the acquisition and development of our metallurgical asset,s including the mid-vol South Fork Complex in Greenbrier County, West Virginia,鈥� board chairman Todd Swanson said.
鈥淲e are excited to have Bernie lead Xinergy as it completes its transition to a metallurgical-focused coal producer.鈥�
He also thanked Goldfarb for his contributions during 鈥渁 period of significant stress and change in the coal industry鈥�
Xinergy鈥檚 properties are in West Virginia and Virginia. It sells thermal and met coal.
