A GAS explosion in east Chinas Jianxin Province has killed at least 48 miners.

The blast occurred late on Friday morning at the state-owned Jianxin Coal Mine of the Fengcheng Coal Mine Bureau in Jiangxi, Xinhua News Agency said.
All 48 bodies have been recovered from the mine. The official cause of the accident is still unknown.
The Jianxin Coal Mine rates as one of the largest state-owned mine with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons.
