Walter Engineering Mackay, formally IT Engineering, was founded in 1995 and has experienced exceptional growth since then, making it one of the largest specialised electrical engineering services in Central Queensland.
Walter Engineering Mackay's fields of expertise include onsite labour hire, programmed maintenance, breakdown maintenance, electrical installations, repairs and overhauls to explosion protected equipment (AS3800 accredited) and accredited training courses for hazardous areas and high voltage isolation and access.
Walter Engineering Illawarra, formally FAL Constructions, is a trusted brand synonymous with underground coal mining and a recognised specialist in ventilation control devices.
The Illawarra workshop is known in the industry as the developer of the FAL Bull Nose Overcast which assists in the reduction of air flow resistance in return airways. Mine tests have shown up to 15% less resistance with the bullnose style compared to the flat roof overcast whilst providing the same internal clearance.
It is manufactured in 1200mm long panel sections and can be fabricated to suit any seam requirements.
The Illawarra workshop is also the developer of Auto Machine Doors in conjunction with Metropolitan Hydraulic Services, air/hydraulic operating system. The door was developed to mitigate risk caused by debris being lodged under air operated doors which could result in building pressure differential across the cylinder which when released results in uncontrolled door speed and the potential for personnel to be jammed between doors or against the rib.
Walter Engineering Illawarra provides specialist requirements including portal doors and large fire doors for such clients such as BHP Crinum East, Broadmeadow, Newlands and Wyee.
It can now provide industry with fabricating custom equipment for both the coal and metalliferous sectors, engineering design and construction, nationwide service, on-the-job consultation and problem solving solutions.
Walter Engineering Central West, formally Hooper Engineering, commenced its operations in 1975, providing general engineering and steel fabrication services to local industries, in particular specialising in maintenance and construction services to coal mining and associated industries.
It has recently expanded its Mudgee operation and is now able to offer a wide range of engineering services to clients, such as Ulan Coal Mines and Wilpinjong Coal.
Walter Engineering Hunter has recently moved into a brand new workshop in the Newcastle area, enabling it to provide a wider variety of services. Services include overhaul of a large range of mining plant, overhaul of driveheads, gearboxes, pulleys and other conveyor equipment, sale of fully overhauled conveyor equipment outright or as service exchange, emergency break down service, laser alignment, maintenance services, technical support and project management.
