The producer released a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing, detailing the citation for imminent danger after crews at the Horse Creek No. 1 operation in McDowell County unintentionally cut into an abandoned neighboring mine.
The Alpha subsidiary that operates the mine, Brooks Run Mining, has since cleared the order with regulators.
No one was hurt and the mine is being sealed, the company said. It also noted that no water or gas issues resulted from the accidental cut.
Alpha is citing an inaccurate state archive map for the incident.
