Warnecke, an 18-year Arch veteran, will report to Paul Vining, who will join the Arch team effective in June as senior vice president of marketing and trading.

Previously, Warnecke served as executive vice president of sales and trading for Arch Coal Sales since 2003. Additionally, he was president of Arch Transportation 1995-1997, and was mine manager for Arch’s former operation in Pikeville, Kentucky, 1998-1992.

Arch Coal is the world’s second largest coal producer, with operations in West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah.
