The forum, which marked its twentieth anniversary last fall, will begin with a presentation from the US Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory on the role of methane drainage in mine safety.
The US EPA will also give a coal mine methane update and a Penn Virginia spokesperson will present on the reserves and economics of coalbed methane (CBM) in Appalachia. West Virginia law firm Steptoe & Johnson will present a legislative and legal update.
Midday presentations will include a Salem township ordinance update and an update on new CBM technology and effective CBM production.
Final presentations will look at gas clean-up and gas content determination.
