Recent drilling has shown an inferred resource of 3.38 billion tonnes at its South Alpha project, and an inferred resource of 975 million tonnes at Alpha North.

Waratah also identified a resource target of 675–840Mt.

The company's licences and applications in the Galilee Basin now cover more than 15,000 square kilometres.

Waratah said it would continue drilling at both sites, with five rigs currently in the field. They will be joined by another four in the third quarter.
